Crimes against humanity under communist regimes

The Living History Forum also focuses on calling our attention to crimes against humanity under communist regimes. For specific reasons we have decided to concentrate on those crimes against humanity that were committed during the communist regimes in the Soviet Union, China and Cambodia during the period between the Russian revolution and the fall of the wall (1917 – 1989).

In 2008 we published a a comprehensible overview of the international research on the subject. This publication is based on the work of two leading Swedish experts in this field. In order to show how private individuals were affected, the fate of individuals has been given a central role in the material compiled for schools.

We also produced a separate exhibition "Dinner with Pol Pot", about the genocide in Cambodia, during 2009. This exhibition was produced in cooperation with the Cambodia Documentation Center.
